1. Attend a regular Lolita meet-up

Another thing I can cross from my list ^^

Yesterday we went to the cinema to watch "Shimotsuma Monogatari (Kamikaze Girls)". The movie is now 7 years old and there are anniversary parties all over Japan. One of the girls, at that point thank you very much, rented a cinema so we can watch it. It was so much fun! You should totally do that too. But I would only recommend that if you are a bigger group because it's quite expensive. We were 22 people.

uhm... yeah... I don't really like that picture :/ The moist weather ruined my curls and I look like a troll. And I never realised how obese I look in that dress... *going to burn it right now!* But yeah, all the other girls look marvellous.

Since I was extremely bored the day before, I decided to make mini-muffins for ALL the girls.

I made 20 of this gift packages and 40 minimuffins, vanilla-chocolatechips and chocolate-cocos. Cooking-chan approved, hell yeah! The only problem is, they were so good, now I have to do that EVERY time :D Oh well...

Do you know the movie Shimotsuma Monogatari? Do you like it? Tell me in the comments below!

PS: My date was really surprised that "Baby the stars shine bright" was a real brand and not only fictional ^^

My first scrapbook!

I'm still obsessing over card making and the cricut and since I don't use cards that much, I decided, that I will focus my obsession on scrapbooks.

For those who don't know what a scrapbook is, it's some kind of a photo album but it's less about the amount of photos and more about the whole look of the book and what story the individual photos tell us. Wikipedia isn't very helpful when it comes to explaining what a scrapbook is. All it says is: "Scrapbook, can refer to 'Scrapbooking' - the process of making a scrapbook". Good job, Wikipedia!

Anyhow (I wanted to write "anyhoe" because I heard it in a video and I thought it was hilarious! But a whore is for private so I will keep it to myself in the future ^^) I made my first scrapbook and it's sooo adorable! Seriously, if you suffer from diabetes, you shouldn't even look at it XD

Here you have the frontcover with an ice cone and you can pull out a tag on the right. You could write down what this scrapbook is all about or you could put your first picture on this tag.

This is my least favourite page. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it at all. It closes with the ribbon around the heart shaped button and when you open it, there's a little bunny that says "hi".

On the inside there is a cupcake and 2 little tags. You have a lot of space for pictures and journalling. I put down the tags for dates of something like that.

This is by far my favourite page! It looks like an envelope and you close it with a ribbon. When you open it you have a little bow in the right upper corner.

Inside there is Mister Chocolate waiting your you ^^ and you can pull out a tag on the right, like on the first page. On the tag I put a little surprise, Mister Cookie XD Again, there is a lot of space for pictures and another small tag in a pocket. You can pull that out too.

On the last page you find a cute lollipop and it slaps open to the right. inside you have again 2 small tags and space for journalling.

What do you think about my first scrapbook? Isn't it cute? ^^ I feel like scrapbooking is a perfect hobby for a Lolita. It's "kawaii" and you put pictures in. Hell yeah, it's the perfect Lolita-hobby!

Would you try something like this yourself? Have you already made a scrapbook? Tell me in the comments below!

25. Sell at least one piece from your closet that you don't wear any longer

I did it! I sold a piece... actually two, it's a set.

I sold the jacket and the skirt. I sewed it last year for my fashion show and it has always been a love-hate. It was very difficult to sew and I hated the whole process so much, that I never wanted to wear it. I still love the way it turned out. But I'm glad that the new owner really likes it.

Cricut Crafting

I discovered something on youtube and I seriously wish I would not have!

That sounds serious but it's not. It's just a very expensive hobby I would like to have but since it's so expensive, there is no way I could afford it. It's "card making". Not ordinary card making but super awesome card making with a cricut machine.

A cricut is a paper cutting machine. That's the easiest way to describe it. You have a memory card, called cartridge, with different motifs and the cricut cuts it for you. That's how cards like this are created:

This is one of the many tutorials you find on youtube.

I'm so amazed and I just want to sit down and make cards. I'm pretty sure the "Rococo Gods" (Götter des Rokoko) would totally agree with this. But (!) these machines are effing expensive. The small one up there is the cricut Create and it costs about 300€ in Germany. I saw it on ebay for about 150$ with shipping but that's still super expensive for me. Also, without a cartridge you can't use the cricut. The cartridge would be another 30-40$. I would love to have the cricut Imagine, you can print and cut at the same time. You don't have to buy coloured paper, you simply print it! The Imagine is the most expensive one, it costs unbelievable 600€ in Germany.

I want a cricut so bad, I would give away my Lolita wardrobe for an Imagine :( It makes me really unhappy that I can't just buy one. But I know myself and I know that I wouldn't use it very often because I tend to loose the interest in my hobbies quite quickly. On the other hand, maybe this is like Lolita and it becomes part of my life?

Did something like this ever happen to you? Did you ever want something so badly?

PS: You can even make wall decoration ;____;

Crafty Stuff

Hello dear readers!

Yesterday I should have cleaned my room... yeah, should have! I didn't ^^ Let me show you what I did instate.

I got this "crafting set" years ago from my friend from Hungary (thanks Nana) and I never got to try it. But it's perfect if you want to kill some time and not clean up your room. It looks really really cute and best thing about Japanese crafting sets is, you get everything to make it look perfect. In this case there is a plate and a fork on the back of the instruction. That's so awesome!

A tutorial on how to do this will follow soon. I just have to get some felt and measure the pattern so you can recreate the cake. But it's very easy to do!

11. Sew a black velvet Lolita skirt

*yay* another thing I can cross from my list! *woo woo*

I sewed a velvet Lolita skirt. It's very simple, I know. But that's what I was going for. It has some lace at the hem, pearl embroidery and removable suspenders. It should look nerdy but jet girly ^^

Uhm... to be honest... I don't like it too much :( I don't know why, I just dislike it. But maybe that's only because I'm in a really bad mood since I moved. Oh well... I can still change it if I want to ^^

What to wear on a first date?

Guess what! I'm having a date tonight!

Yes, a date and like every other woman in the world I have a closet full of nothing. I have no idea what I should wear tonight. As a Lolita it's even harder to find an outfit for your first date because you want to show your date your individual style but at the same time you don't want to overwhelm him with your ruffles. (On a side note, if the guy says something like "Lolita is ugly, I don't want to be seen with you in Lolita", he probably isn't worth your time :/ but that is for you to decide!)

You may not want to wear a full OTT Lolita outfit with circle lenses, wig and fake lashes, since it is about you and not about how perfect your outfit looks. Most of the guys don't like it if you look like you painted your face with several different colours :D But I have a post about "first date make-up" in my make-up blog, so check it out if you want to know what I would wear for such an occasion.

Even though I like sweet Lolita, i won't be wearing it tonight, only because I don't like to wear pastels only in my everyday life. But that's just me and my personal preferences. If you want to wear pastels on your first date, go ahead and do so but keep in mind that you want to keep it simple.

This is the only "simple" pink dress I own, I would wear this dress with a cutsew and without a petticoat. The cutsew keeps it casual and, to be honest, this dress looks better without a petticoat. You can combine it with a blouse and wear it with a petticoat if you like. As long as you feel comfortable, it's fine.

A very classy combination would be a simple JSK with a blouse or cutsew. I love this dresses cut. I wear it as a "normal" dress as often as I do in a Lolita combination. But I wouldn't wear it today without blouse and socks because we'll stay at his place to watch TV and I will have to take my shoes of. It is possible that he is totally grossed out be naked feet, so I don't want to risk anything ^^ (I'm totally grossed out by naked feet, that's why I thought about this :D)

If you have big boobies, like a C-cup or bigger, you want to avoid under-bust cuts. It will make your boobies look HUMONGOUS! You don't want your outfit to scream "Hello! I have HUGE breasts! Stare at them!" at the first date :D
Also, dresses with a babydoll cut aren't the most faltering. Sometimes they make you look "rounder" than you are and if that makes you uncomfortable, you date will feel uncomfortable too.

You don't like dresses? No Problem! Put on a skirt and pair it with a cutsew or blouse. A cutsew, once again, would be the more casual version. I choose this skirt because it's not too fancy and I know my date digs suspenders.

In the end it's up to you. Wear what ever you are comfortable in. If you want to wear a light blue ruffle monster, do it! If the guy likes you, he doesn't care what you wear!
