uhm... what?

A friend of mine and I decided to order at Angelic Pretty Paris, so I wrote them an e-mail, told them what we wanted and that I have a full "coupon card" which is worth 25€.

They answered quite quickly and said, they need the card in Paris (kind of "in person") and I should send it to them. They gave me two opions: 1. Buy the things now for the full price and as soon as the coupon arrives, I get my money back or 2. they reserve the stuff until the coupon arrives and then they send me the invoice for the order.

Well, I got their mail on the 28th,  and since then I was unable to send them an answer because their inbox is full! HOW THE HELL CAN SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPEN?! I mean, yeah, they get a lot of mails and they have to keep it for a while because of legal shit and stuff but it's been almost 2 days now and apparently they still haven't noticed it. I still can't answer them.

In the letter I wrote them I tried to explain what is going on. I really hope it doesn't sound rude but it is really driving me up the walls. It gives me rashes ^^ Seriously, the fact, that I can't reach them, stresses me so much, that I got a stress-related nettle rash this morning (as I tried to send them an answer... again...) Don't do that to me :(

It's been a while since I got a full on nettle rash because of stress. What are you doing to me Angelic Pretty? Seriously?

Tea Time

Today I went out to have some tea ^^

Dress: Metamorphose
Cardigan: Swimmer
Scarf: Secret Santa gift (handmade :D)

Point of fashion: looking good and feeling comfy for a casual tea-date

It really bothers me that the light in my room is so bad. I have only one window and it goes to the north. It's an skylight, so it's not straight but in an angle and even fewer light comes in. I will try to turn on the lights next time.

Funny Cravings!

If you know the TV series "How I met your Mother", you know what I mean when I'm talking about "pregnancy brain". Don't worry, I'm not pregnant but I'm craving pickles with chocolate on potato chips, in form of a dress! I'm having badass style-mood-swings!

I don't know what but something happened to me because after my "Honey Cake OP"-craving, I now want this...

It's Angelic Prettys "Whipped Magic OP" in pink. Again the colour combination is not the best and you really need some time to get used to it (if you ever do so) but in my opinion that's the dresses charm.

I really hope the crazy cravings and the style-mood-swings stop soon. It's driving me nuts! :D

I am indeed the master of Christmas presents

Whenever I call myself "master of Christmas presents", I'm obviously joking. It's simply to please my ego. I need that from time to time. Who doesn't? But still, I'm pretty damn good at making presents!

This headdress was for Nana. We saw something like this in Paris and since I had this plastic ivy lying around at home, I decided to make her something similar to what we saw in Paris. (Also, thank you for the nail polish! It's so pretty!)

This is the bonnet I showed you some days ago. I made the brim smaller and finished it in time to send it to my friend Tabsi in Germany. She loves it ^^ which makes me incredible happy.

A jabot I threw together last minute. I had the cameo (well, the piece on the inside with the dead lady on it) for ages and didn't know what to do with it. That's a very good use for it, don't you think? ^^

I also made a unicorn brooch and a "Frilly-Pussy" brooch (remind me to tell you the story about the frilly pussy aka "Rüschenmuschi" at some point) but I forgot to take pictures of them :/ I didn't take a picture of the blouse I've sewn either... but my friend was nice enough to send me the poupee link.

Until now I didn't recieve my secret Santa gift from the animexx Lolita circle (and since I didn't get anything last year, this makes me kind of nervous) but my regulars table secret Santa gift was PERFECT!

How many of you don't know what that is? XD It's a tape maker ("Schrägbandformer"). You need it iron bias binding in shape. It's sooo awesome! I had a sewstressgasm (is that inappropriate to say? ^^) as I unwrapped it and nobody at the regulars table was able to understand my excitement! This tool is like an ipod station in your car: You don't necessary need it but it can be very helpful. It's especially helpful if you want to sew cutsews and I want to sew quite a lot of those in the next months :D
I never thought my secret Santa would get me something like this. It was incredible thoughtful of her.

How was your advent season so far? Tell me in the comments.

Lolita - The Movie

I recently watched the movie "Lolita", the version with Jeremy Irons. I thought I should at least see it once.

Jeremy Irons is a great actor. I like him a lot. I even liked him in this stupid movie. The movie was... well, not my cup of tea. It's not a bad movie, it's really well done and the actors are great but if you want to slap the main character in the face, constantly, then there's something very wrong!

I guess I would have liked the movie if if wasn't for "Lolita". I don't understand Humberts fascination with her because I think she is plain ugly. The actress is not the type of woman I find attractive, not at all! I could have gotten over that but "Lolita" is so annoying and tiring. Why does Humbert tolerate this kind of behaviour? I have no idea... She behaves like my 9 year old brother when he is really really bored but she is supposed to be 14.
Humbert is a very smart man, he is some kind of literature professor and "Lolita" is the exact opposite. She comes across as a dumb spoilt brat and if there is something that I absolutely dislike it's dumb spoilt brats!

Well, over all, I'm glad I watched it because now I can say, I don't like it ^^
Have you seen any of the movies? Have you red the book? Tell me in the comments!

Let's take a stroll around town!

Maybe you noticed that I didn't post any outfit-pics lately. It's not because I don't wear Lolita. I'm just incredible messy and I don't have the space in my room to take a picture ^^

But I made it! I cleaned up my room! It's amazing how much garbage I had lying around. It should be so easy to throw things out but sometimes it's not. Especially if you are like me and a tiny voice in the back of your head wispers "you may need this at some point at the future" every time you are sorting things out.

Now that my room is clean again I can take pictures! WHEEE!!

Well... I can take pictures, I just need to find a better angle. Yes, I look incredible fat in that picture because I wear uncountable layers of clothes to stay warm. The members of the "Dr. Who Regulars Table" decided to visit my very boring home town and I joined them :D It was nice and I really hope I made a good first impression, even though I doubt that because I'm awkward and weird XD True story!

What did you do on the weekend? Anything fun? Tell me in the comments below!

Work in progress

I'm sewing a bonnet and I think I need to make the brim a little bit smaller. Just a little bit...

I love Christmas

I got my first Christmas present *yay*

I really love Christmas because I love giving presents to other people ^^ It sounds so strange but I greatly enjoy thinking about presents and making other people happy with them. But at the same time, I'm always late with my presents! Once again Tabsi (my dear friend, who gave me this lovely bag) I'm sorry that I'm ALWAYS late with them ;___;

This year I played secret Santa with the girls from the Lolita regulars table. I made the girl that I got a book-headdres. Yes, a book-headdress!

I will end up in literature hell because I murdered a real book for it (it got it at the library flee market, it still broke my heart...).

The gift for the animexx Lolita circle secret Santa was also a lot of fun to make (and a lot less stressful for me since I didn't have kill a book).

I crocheted the flowers for the headband myself ^^ The internet told me how to make them. Awesome! The deer is a pin made out of felt. I really hope she likes it. She wrote in the description that she likes deer but it could be too cute for her taste :/

What do you think about Christmas? Do you celebrate it? If so, do you like it? Tell me in the comments below!

All about tights and overknees

The H&M kids department broke my heart so many times... why the ef can't you produce all the cute stuff for grown ups too? Why?

But okay, it's not supposed to  happen, I guess. I can't force my very womanly body in one of the cardigans or dresses but I can cheat a little and wear the kids tights ^^

If you are on a budged or simply to young to earn enough money to buy stuff online (brand, Bodyline or Taobao, doesn't matter), the hardest nonbrand item to find is probably the socks and tights. Especially if you prefer sweet Lolita. You hardly find cute socks or tights in European shops. Well, you do find them. In the H&M kids department and you can't wear them because they are tiny -.-  But, like I said, you can cheat!

H&M has some really sweet and cute tights in the kids department. Off white, baby pink, brown with pink polka dots and a lot more. If you are thin and not very tall, you will probably fit into the 158/164 tights but if you are curvy, like I am, they won't fit you. I'm going to tell you my trick, how you can wear them anyway.

You get a pair of tights and cut off the "pants"-part. That way you have a pair of stockings or overknees. You can leave it like that. The edge will not unravel itself. But if you want, you can zig-zag-sew along the edge to secure it.

The stockings won't stay up, the will slip down your legs. You have to wear them with garters/suspenders. Now you might ask yourself, where do I get a suspender belt? Angelic Pretty has bloomers with detached garters if you want a brand item (they are insanely overpriced though ^^)

Funnily enough Amazon has a great variety of suspender belts or you look around in a sex shop. They are specialised in underwear. But don't visit a sex shop if you are under 18 and don't tell your parents I told you to look for suspenders in a sex shop XD Don't write me angry e-mails, parents ^^
Often underwear shops don't have suspender belts because they are out of fashion. Sex shops have them all year and the suspenders there are in most cases much cheaper than in normal underwear shops. I will now stop talking about sex shops... XD

I hope this was kind of helpful for you. I promise, I will not show off my underwear in another blog post ^^ What do you prefer, tights, overknees or knee high socks?

How to stay warm in winter!

Obviously I don't know how to stay warm in winter since I have already been sick ^^ But theoretically I should know a little something about it.

- Put on as many layers as possible
I always wear an under shirt, sometimes even an long sleeved one. I put on tights, socks and another pair of socks. I prefer JSKs over OPs because a blouse under the JSK adds another layer but you could also put on a blouse under an OP. Just layer up ^^

- Never forget your scarf or gloves
You could switch the scarf to a fur collar, it doesn't matter as long as you have something to keep your neck warm.
I prefer leather gloves or knitted ones, only because I think they are warmer. They don't even have to be real leather. But this is just my personal preference.

- Get a pair of warm bloomers
I have a pair of bloomers made out of fleece and it's so super worm and comfy. You want to keep your feet and your bottom warm to prevent a cystitis (==> 3 pair of socks ^^).

- Keep your head warm
You lose most of your body heat over your head so you want to put on a hat or something. I have berets in all shapes and sizes. If you don't like that, maybe you like earmuffs?

- Include fashion items in your outfit that keep you warm
Like a cape over your coat would be another layer or a muff to put your hands in.

- Use "technology"
Have you ever heard of pocket hand warmers? You bend a metal part in a gel cushion and the cushion starts to get hot and hard (that sounds wrong XD). After it cooled down and it's completely hardened, you boil it and it's reusable! YAY!

- Choose thicker and warmer material
For example, a dress made out of velvet is much warmer than a dress made out of plain cotton (even though in most of the cases velvet is also made out of cotton... it's complicated ^^). Wool would also be warmer than cotton. There are some brand dresses made out of wool. Innocent world has some, also Metamorphose temps de fille.

WOW, that's quiet a long list. I never thought I could come up with so many. I hope this was helpful at all. If you have any other tips, let me know in the comments below!

Engineer Boots

I always had trouble finding shoes. The two main reasons are: I have big feet, a Japanese 26 or a European 41, and I'm picky ^^

Since last year I'm trying to find the perfect boots for me. I wanted flat, black lace-up boots, not too military looking, more victorian-lady-like or cute looking and, hands down, I was not able to find shoes like that! They were either brown, not feminine enough or simply too expensive.

At some point I just gave up and stopped looking but when I went shoe shopping with my sister some weeks ago it came to me. Engineer boots are in this year and you get them in all shapes and sizes... I'm going to pimp a ordinary pair to make them look something like this:

And this is what I came up with:

I took of the studded ribbons and replaced them with faux fur cuffs. The cuffs are closed with a satin ribbon and I attached a pearl chain.

Actually I wanted to write a tutorial on how to makes those but I ended up making them the most complicated way possible ^^ Every time you make something for the first time, you have to figure out how to make it and how to improve your technique. I may write a tutorial at some point, if you really want it but at the moment I only know how you shouldn't make them.

What kind of boots/shoes do you prefer for the winter? Tell me in the comments below!

Happy International Winter Lolita Day

Happy International Winter Lolita Day!

Or international Lolita winter day or winter international Lolita day ^^ I'm not sure which is the right order :D

So, tell me. What are you doing today? Do you meet up with your Lolita friends? Do you even care about "international Lolita day?". I won't do anything at all, just cleaning my room because it really needs to be done ^^

And a funny thing happened to me yesterday. I was talking to my friend in Canada and told her, how I was fed up with all the stuff I own and that I don't feel like wearing anything in my closet because it feels like I wore everything a thousand times and how I would love to own the Honey Cake OP in yellow. Also, we both agreed that spending a lot of money before Christmas makes us feels guilty.
But later that day I found another Lolita-channel on youtube and the girl was selling her Honey Cake OP in yellow. The video was a week old and I thought there was no chance that the dress is still available. But it was! And it was actually quiet cheap too. So, I bought it XD

Buying this dress sure rips a hole in my financial plan but I need a little change in my wardrobe. I really got upset yesterday. It felt like me not wanting to wear any of my dresses was blocking my chi or something. This sounds so silly and shallow. But I was upset and I don't like being upset. So I changed something and now I feel great! And I am allowed to buy a dress every half a year, don't you think?

Hair Tutorial: Side Buns

You asked for it, I'm at your service ^^

Side buns. It's so easy to do. It's the one hair style I do when I don't have enough time for something like curling my hair. It takes me under 10 minutes and it looks really cute!

You will need 2 hair ties, some bobby pins and a teasing comb.

This is a teasing comb. It's "spiky" at the bottom of the teeth. A teasing comb would be ideal but any comb with close teeth will do. You could even use a brush, it doesn't really matter.

You start off by making one pigtails on each side your head. Make sure they are even. Otherwise it will show up in the end and fixing it will drive you nuts. I "place" the pigtailis a litter above and behind my ears.
The next step will be the teasing. You hold one pigtail at the hair ends with one hand and with the other hand, that holds the teasing comb, you push the hair upwards. For example, in my left hand I hold the left pigtail (at the hair ends, as close to the bottom as possible) and in my right hand I hold the teasing comb. I then use the teasing comb to push the hair from the bottom upwards. You don't need much volume close to the hair tie, you need it in the middel.
After you teased both pigtails you should look something like on the right picture.

Before you can start with pinning the up the pigtails to side buns, you need to smooth out the surface. Make a loose fist around the pigtails, but don't close it. Run your hand down the pigtail from the hair tie to the hair ends. You don't want to lose too much of the volume you just created, you just want a smooth surface. It's easier to work with a smooth surface. For more "grip" use a little bit of hair spray .
Pinning up the buns is the trickiest part. I wrap the hair around the tie from the front to the back. I hold the hair closest to the hair tie down (left pigtail with my left hand, right pigtail with my right hand) and start wrapping with my other hand ( left with right, right with left). I keep it loose and tug the hair ends under the buns so they don't show. With the first bobby pin I pin down the hair ends otherwise the bun will instantly fall apart ^^
Put as many booby pins in as you feel you need. I mostly use 3-4 but sometimes they don't want to work out and I have like a dozen in one bun. Finish up with a good amount of hair spray and start decorating!

If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the comments below!

"Real" Lolita Hobbies

I'm on flue-medication, bare with me! My brain feels all fluffy and weird.

I hope you didn't take my last blog entry too seriously. I was in the mood to write a kind of shallow and ridiculously clichéd blog post, which doesn't mean you are shallow or clichéd if you do enjoy these hobbies. I practise 6,5 out of 8 of them! It also doesn't mean you are not a good Lolita if you don't enjoy them. I guess I wanted to make clear that a fashion should not dictate what kind of hobbies you have.

Now, here is an incomplete list of things I like to do in my spare time other than Lolita-related things:

- getting my nerd core on and gaming like a BOSS!!

I carry my nintendo DS in Hello Kitty case. Just for the record, I own a first generation Nintendo DS, it's so old, it's almost considered vintage :D

- getting my nerd core on and collecting "Lord of the rings"-themed stuff like a BOSS!!
I own a Minas Tirith bookend and 3 copies of the book itself ^^

- getting my nerd core on and watching SciFi and Fantasy series like a BOSS!!
Star Trek, Dr Who, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, True Blood, Fringe, Supernatural, etc, not Andromeda though because I can't stand Hercules not playing Hercules ^^

- getting my nerd core on and drooling over Star Wars merchandise like a BOSS!!
I want a Storm Trooper uniform so bad!

So, you see, I'm a nerd, a BOSS!! (like a boss) and a Lolita ^^ Have fun with this wonderful fashion!

And seriously, don't take me too serious. Flue-medication does funny things to me! Vampires suck... oh god... I can't stop laughing about that!

Pefect Lolita Hobbies

Whenever I get bored and I feel like I have nothing to do, I tend to say one specific sentence: "I need a hobby!" So, what's the perfect Lolita hobby?

- Playing the piano

Or the violin, cello, flute... Basically any kind of elegant looking instrument. Maybe not the sax(ophone) or the drums but I would really love to see a Lolita jazz band :D

- Knitting and crocheting
You could do Amigurumi, lace collars, whole cut sews, wristcuffs, head dresses... the possibilities are endless!

- Embroidering
Sitting in front of a fireplace with a embroidery frame, embroidering unicorns on a pillow. No doesn't that just sound like a perfect Lolita moment?

- Deco den
It's sweet, it's kawaii and it comes from Japan. It doesn't get any more perfect!

- Travelling
to Japan of course... and Paris and San Francisco... everywhere where Lolita shops are!

- Collecting Lolita artwork
This could be books, DVDs, magazines, drawings, really everything Lolita-related.

- Hair styling, Make-up, Nail design
Anything beauty-related because we want to look even more beautiful than we really are! Who doesn't want that?

- Having your picture taken
Admit it, we are all picture-addicts!

Prom Night!

Yesterday was my sisters prom and since she visits the same school I visited, I decided to go to the prom.

First I have to tell you, the city where my ex-school is, is in my opinion the most horrible city to be a Lolita. 90% of the population are ignorant, rude people. There are many schools, so you have a lot of young people, especially at the train station. I hated to wait for my train/bus to arrive. I'm trying to stay positive and I don't like to use the word hate because it's so negative and you shouldn't waste so much energy on such a negative thing but I really hated to be at the train station. I'm tough but that was too much for me.

Now that you know about my feelings for this city, you can probably understand that I didn't feel very excited about this prom. But it meant a lot to my sister and it was nice to see some of my old teachers.
Weeks before the prom I was thinking about what to wear to this prom. A plain prom dress and a put-up hairdo? Or full on eccentricity? Yeah... you guessed it!

I'm wearing my "Afternoon Garden" dress from Angelic Pretty (I spend so much money on that dress, I have to wear it as often as possible XD), my Rock Star Wig and a handmade crown (looks better from the front, though). The shoes were killing me after half an hour but I stayed strong through out the night ^^

Trough out the night, there was one thing I was told over and over again: "I didn't recognize you." But how could they not recognize me? They all spend at least 2 years with me and already saw me in my Lolita outfits. I was wearing Lolita everyday when I was still in school. I'm not the most creative girl that ever visited that school but probably the most uncommon one. So, who did they think would dress up like this besides me? ^^

My German teacher complimented me on my nice hair. I didn't tell him it's a wig. He is not into this whole fashion-thingy (FYI it's a fashion-school, just in case you didn't know that) and he didn't know what to say. He obviously wanted to say something nice. I couldn't take that away from him.
My management teacher smiled at me and gave me that "only-you-would-come-dresses-up-like-this"-look but in a positive way. She organises the prom and I think she truly appreciates creativity. Somehow.
That may sound mean but I'm glad my form teacher wasn't at the prom. I never got along with her even though I think she was the best pattern drawing teacher in school. I don't know what she would have said about my outfit but I fear it would not have been so positive, in a way that she finds funny. Sometimes people try to be funny but insult you  instate without noticing that they hurt you. Yeah, I'm glad I didn't have to deal with her.

That entry is getting quiet long and non-Lolita-related. Sorry for that. I just had to get this off my chest. Did you ever have a similar experience? Tell me in the comments below!

Blouse: Yes but No!

I was asked if I could write a tutorial on how to sew a blouse. My answer to that:

yes but no but yes but no but yes but no... (if you get the reference, here is an imaginary cookie for you!)

Yes of course I can write down how to sew a blouse. I've done that several times, it was part of my education. But that's the problem. I'm trained to write working plans for people who are trained to read and understand them.

I'm having a hard time explaining technical terms because I never had to. Another thing would be that I never had to write a working plan in English. And the last thing... there are so many different designs that are sewn differently! For example, there are 3 different kind of button tapes, 4 different kind of collars, 7 different kind of sleeves (that I can think off on the top of my head), 2 different kind of cuffs and for a cuff you need a sleeve vent. I know 4 different ways how to sew a sleeve vent.
You see where this is heading? I can't just write one tutorial because if you change the design, it's very possible that the tutorial won't help you any longer.

So, I'm still thinking about if I should really do this. It would be sooo much work, not only sewing and writing it but also answering your questions. And there will be questions! Because I'm not good at explaining things ^^ Even though I want to help you and I want to show you how it's done, I'm not sure if I can handle all the work. I had half a year (18 hours a week) of training before I could sew a blouse and I had my teacher, who always told me the next step. Blouses are one of the most advanced things to sew :/

I hope you will understand my reasons if  I decide not to show you how it's done. I'm still thinking about it and trying to figure out how to do it if I do it. But I can't promise anything!

Lolita-hairstyles for short hair - the fro!

Writing a hair-tutorial is a point on my list and I put it on there because I always felt like there aren't many hair-tutorials for short hair. My hair is a bit longer than shoulder-length at the moment and when I first cut it to that length, I had to figure out what hairstyles I can do with it. Believe me, you can do some pretty sweet stuff with it.

The first thing I want to show you is "the fro". Wikipedia says:
"Fro may refer to:
  • "Fro", slang for Afro, a hairstyle in the form of a big puff"
A hairstyle in the form of a big puff. Now isn't that just perfect for Lolita? I think it is! It works best if your hair is about shoulder-length. I feel like my hair is getting a bit too long for it. You will need some kind of curlers, the thinner the better. I'm using curlpaper (Papilloten, für alle aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum) made out of foam but you could use paper strips or pieces of toilet paper. Don't use newspapers though, the ink could stain your hair.

These are the curlers that I use. I got them for under 3€ I think and they are really good and not that uncomfortable to sleep on. To get the best outcome, I put the curlers in at night, I either just came out of the shower and my hair is freshly washed or I wet it after I put the curlers in with a spray bottle and some water. If you keep the curlers in over night, your hair has several hours to dry. It needs to be completely dry when you take out the curlers otherwise the curls won't stay in your hair.
I always start off on the back of my head because this is the hardest part to reach. I part my hair in the middle, separate a small section down the middle and clip the rest of the hair out of the way.

Once I'm done with the back I do the rest of my hair. The smaller the sections of hair you take, the better for the fro because you want really tight, small curls. After you done your whole head, if your hair is already wet, you can now leave it like this and go to bed. If it's not wet, get a spray bottle with some water and spray your hair. Make sure your whole head is evenly damp.
My hair is really thin and dries fast. However if your hair is thicker and needs longer to dry, I would recommend that you use the second method. That way your hair is "only" damp and not wet all the way through and it will dry quicker. The outcome is the same.

This is what your hair should look like after you took the curlers out, tight, tiny curls all over your head. Don't brush it! Firstly, try do run a comb through it, it won't work anyway ^^ Secondly, you don't want to loosen up the curls too much. I run my fingers through the curls, very gently, whip my head back and for (oh media, you ruined me for life XD) to separate the hair and bring some volume into the curls.

And this is what you end up with. I think it's so darn cute! You can leave the fro as it is and just put a head bow on or whatever you like. Or you could style it a little.

You can put your hair into very curly sidebuns. Just part your hair down the middle and put it into pigtales with 1 scrunchy on each side. Or you make one giant bun on the top of your head. Pull your hair up and put a hair tie around it. But for this hair style I would make the plait first and put the curlers in when the hair is in the plait. That way you don't have to worry about smoothing out the sides of your head with all the curlyness going on.

I hope you liked this tutorial! Tell me if you want a tutorial for any other hair style ^^

Half-Time!

It's half-time! 75 days left for my challenge. I wasn't able to cross too many things from my list. Some things seemed pretty easy when I wrote the list and some of them now seem impossible to do or are really not possible. For example, I'm not going to university this semester, so I won't be able to cross number 3 (Wear Lolita to university) off.
Or:
- Order from Closet Child for the first time (no money atm -.-)
- Organize or at least attend a Lolita Christmas-party (seems like there won't be a Christmas-party this year and I can't organize one like planned)
- Finish your Lolita coat you started to sew last November (simply don't want to...)

But I sewed a chiffon blouse. I somehow forgot to blog about it ^^

I was wearing it on Halloween and to the last meet-up last Saturday. I didn't blog about the meet-up either... I didn't feel like it XD (also, what happend to my face in this picture? o___ô looks horrible!)

Here you can see the blouse better. It's a red version of my blue chiffon blouse, I sewed for the Angelic Pretty Tea Party. This is actually the only picture where you can see the blouse quite well. I'm posing with Jana-Ellena form "Nerd Sweetmeat" (hai gurl hai).

At the moment I'm a sucker for outfits that incorporate red. I love my red headbow (I will try to post a tutorial soon), I love my red heart shaped glasses, I allways loved my red shoes. Red is just an AWESOME colour.

What do you love to wear at the moment? Tell me in the comments below.

A Lovestory

I hardly ever look around the Lolita-shops (no matter if it is brand, offbrand, Taobao, etc...) so I'm never up to date with all the new stuff. That being said, today I found out that they made a replica out of one of my favourite Baby, the stars shine bright JSKs.

Left you have the original and right the replicas. I remember that I wanted that print pretty badly. It was one of the first dresses that I was willed to spend hundreds of Euro on. This still doesn't happen very often, I rather sew my own stuff.
But I didn't purchase it in the end because it was a winter-themed dress and I didn't want to buy a dress that I couldn't wear all year. Well, yes I could but it would feel weird to wear a dress with ice skating bunnies in summer.

Now, of course, I was thinking about buying the replica because it's inexpensive and that way I wouldn't spend a ton of money on a dress that I could only wear in winter. But I don't think I will buy it. I looked at the pictures and it came to me, that the replica would not make me happy :/

The dresses look good at first but if you take a closer look, they are kind of sad looking. The quality suffers if you produce a dress that cheap and if it was any other dress, I wouldn't mind. But I fell in love with this particular dress and I don't want to settle for less.

We have a true love-relationship with some dresses, don't we ^^ Tell me about yours in the comments below!

Lolita is highly suggestive!

Under my youtube subscriptions there is an Asian girl that decided to do a "sweet Lolita make-up tutorial" and unfortunately one of her viewers didn't know what "Lolita" was, googled it and found out that "Lolita" is a very very bad word...

Her comment: "i hope you understand the term lolita refers to the sexualization of children ... the idea is completey repulsive".

I told her that the term "Lolita" has different meanings, it's a nickname, a nouvelle, a  movie, a Japanese streetfashion and in this case the video poster was talking about the last thing.

Someone else told the unknowing comment poster to get her facts straight, that Lolita has nothing to do with sex and I assume at that point the unknowing comment poster got angry and replied with "and by the way this so called style is highly suggestive!!"

Oh boy... here we go...

The original video poster then changed the title of the video because she doesn't want to insult anybody and apologised to the unaware comment poster, who replied: "Thank youuu :) I just wanted to point that out since i wanted to know what lolita was about and when I looked it up thats the definition I found so I was horrified, I understand there is a style also named that now"

So she didn't even know what Lolita looks like but it's highly suggestive? Did I get this right? Okay...

Sometimes I really wish "Lolita" would have a different name. If it was called "furilly-key" it would be so much easier... We are covering our bodies with so many layers of fabric, we are wearing bloomers so nobody can see our panties, the skirts are at knee length, we are not showing off any cleavage. What is so highly suggestive? It's not only this very ignorant person, many people consider it highly suggestive! Is it the stockings? Is it the frilly underpants? Or just the fact that we are wearing dresses? I have no idea and it's really frustrating...

I'm not highly suggestive, I'm BAD ASS!!

What is wrong with me?

You know, people say when you are pregnant you are craving ridiculous things like pickles with ice cream. I feel like something like this is happening to me but not with food but with Lolita dresses...

When Angelic Pretty first released the Honey Cake series I could not believe that they actually released something so terribly ugly. Now, I want it. BAD!

I swear to Momoko, my first reaction to this dress was: "Holy  mother of god, what kind of drugs are the designers on? They are raping fabric!"
And now I'm willed to pay 300€ for this particular dress. I can't effort it. I'm still paying back the money my Mom lent me for Paris ^____^" There is absolutely no way I could buy this any time soon (it's also sold out and hardly shows up on Closet Child or the sales comm) but I really really want it. It's yellow and red and sooo ugly I just have to love it!

It's not a pretty dress. I have no idea why I want it. I just do...

What are you craving at the moment? Tell me in the comments.

PS: Yeah, can't sleep -.-
